Secret Beaches, Private Beaches was a long time coming. This was inspired by a friend's trip on a private yacht and sharing some of the amazing places they traveled. One of them was a set of small islands and sand bars. It captured my imagination completely!
There were many attempts and I felt like giving up so many times but I couldn't get the image out of my head. On the 4th try, it came together. Painted in acrylics on birch with many colors subtly playing through the foam and water.
Sometimes you just have to hang in there and bend the paint to your will.
